Dunkleosteus 14575
Schleich Product Features Dunkleosteus Dunkleosteus lived 130-150 million years before the first dinosaurs. It was a fearless predator capable of hunting incredibly fast and devouring large sharks. It would even devour its own kind if it couldn't find other prey. Only half-digested fish fossils have been discovered alongside its skeleton. Therefore, scientists believe that Dunkleosteus was a poor chewer and swallowed its prey in large pieces. Its name comes from paleontologist David Dunkle. The word "osteos" means "bone" in Greek. Instead of teeth, Dunkleosteus's powerful jaws had long, sharp bony plates.
