On one warm summer night in 2013, two cousins who had long worked side-by-side in the fields of entrepreneurship and innovation decided to establish a specialized and professional online clothing store in Iran. At the time, there were no active online fashion retailers in Iran—or at least none that we were aware of—so Shikpoush became the first online clothing store in the country. Back then, all our sources of knowledge and information came from foreign websites.
At that point, we were true beginners. Even more importantly, we were living outside Iran and had no physical base or location inside the country. As founders, we never imagined the business would grow to the extent that we’d eventually need to return to Iran.
From day one, our focus was clear: selling branded and original products. With this approach, we reached out to some of the most prominent brands in the world of fashion. In fact, the very first brands featured on our website were Louis Vuitton, Burberry, and Gucci. Connecting with regional managers of these brands was incredibly challenging, but after months of dedicated effort, we were able to convince some of them to collaborate. Today, the following brands work with Shikpoush either directly or indirectly.
Years have passed since that fortunate beginning, and our team has significantly expanded both in Iran and the UAE. During this time, we’ve gained the trust and loyalty of many customers—something we’re very proud of.
Today, Shikpoush continues its international operations under the brand name SHIKPOUSH. Our headquarters is located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where a team of over 50 professionals works. We also have offices in Istanbul, Turkey, and a service and support office in London, United Kingdom, dedicated to serving customers in Europe and the Americas. Additionally, we maintain a support office in Iran that handles customer service, customs clearance, and local deliveries. Currently, Shikpoush employs over 150 full-time staff, both Iranian and international. This diversity in nationalities has enabled us to expand our knowledge across various fields.
Over the years, we’ve successfully expanded our shipping services to over 80 countries, including all of the Americas, Europe, and Northern Africa, as well as the Gulf countries, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and select countries in Asia such as Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand. We take great pride in seeing an Iranian startup flourish on such a global scale.
It’s also worth mentioning that Shikpoush offers a valuable platform for Iranian manufacturers who wish to introduce and sell their products globally through our store.
